We are happy to report that Stephen's paper entitled "Evolutionary and functional analysis of the invariant SWIM domain in the conserved Shu2/SWS1 protein family from Saccharomyces cerevisiae to Homo sapiens" has been accepted to publication in Genetics. This project was a joint effort from our lab and then lab of Dr. Nathan Clark at Pitt. In this paper we discovered that the Shu complex is an ancient and highly conserved eukaryotic regulator of meiotic and mitotic HR. We found the Shu complex in hereto unknown model organisms including, flies, worms, and fish. Congratulations to Stephen, Camille, Faiz, Dominique, Christina, Michael, Kyle, and Meghan who all contributed to this important work!
